Thame food festival

Thame Food Festival 2026 takes place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September at Thame Showground, with gates open from 10am both days. Saturday runs until 6pm and Sunday until 5pm, and adult tickets cost £10 with under-12s going free, according to the official Thame Food Festival ticket page.

Thame itself sits close to Princes Risborough, making it an easy add-on for anyone already exploring this part of Buckinghamshire.

Why visit an Indian restaurant after a food festival?

A festival day is built for grazing, not for a full meal, so a sit-down curry afterwards rounds off the day properly. Street food stalls are perfect for sampling, but they are designed for small bites eaten on your feet between stages and stalls.

After a few hours of walking, tasting and queueing, most people want to sit down, relax, and eat a proper meal without the crowds. That is where Radhuni Lounge comes in: just a 14 to 15 minute drive from Thame Showground, with plush lounge seating, a full dining menu and a wine and cocktail list to match.

How far is Radhuni Lounge from Thame Showground?

Radhuni Lounge is around 6.8 miles (11km) from Thame Showground, roughly a 14 to 15 minute drive along the A4129. The route is simple: leave the showground heading southeast onto the A4129 (Thame Road), then follow it straight through to Princes Risborough. Once you enter the town,it’s easy to find inside The Old Library building on Church Street.

That makes it one of the closest proper sit-down curry houses to the festival, close enough to finish the day there without much of a detour.

What’s on the menu at Radhuni Lounge?

Radhuni Lounge serves a mix of Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine, from familiar classics to regional specialities and signature dishes created by its own award-winning kitchen. The dining menu includes chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh alongside regional dishes such as Hyderabadi biryani and Bengali fish curry, plus a full vegetarian and vegan range.

The kitchen’s own Radhuni Specials are worth a mention too: Shoo-coo-tee, Chatinadu, Razala and Shahi, each built around a distinct blend of spices, herbs and yoghurt rather than a single house sauce. Diners can also explore the cocktail menu or choose from the wine list to pair with their meal.

What makes Radhuni Lounge worth the detour?

Radhuni Lounge has been serving Princes Risborough since 2004 and has picked up national recognition for its food, including being named Champion of Champions at the 2024 ARTA Awards. Earlier honours include Best Chef from Curry Life in 2017, National Chef of the Year from ARTA in 2019, and Editor’s Choice from Curry Life in 2021, according to the restaurant’s own history.

In March 2023 the restaurant expanded into a dedicated lounge space, adding relaxed seating and a bar area alongside the main dining room. That combination of two decades of experience and recent investment is part of what separates it from a typical festival food stall.

How do I book a table?

Tables at Radhuni Lounge can be booked directly through the restaurant’s online reservation page, or by phone for same-day enquiries. Takeaway is also available through online ordering for anyone who would rather finish festival day at home.
